Kampala | Uganda | Bouncing Castles Uganda
Thousands are expected to participate in the Kampala kids run on Sunday. Sponsors DStv have partnered Kids Run organisers for the event, which will start and end at the Uganda Museum.
Much as kids are the focus of the race, participation is open to everyone. It will have two categories of races; the main three kilometre route through Tufnell drive up in Kamwokya to Kira road and back, and the shorter 1.5 kilometre run that stops at City Oil fuel station and back to the museum.
Proceeds of the run will go towards providing safe drinking water for children in schools. It will be a fun day of sorts and other activities lined up for participants and parents include; face-painting, egg-hunting and bouncing castles, among others.
Muslin Kiwanuka, the Kampala Kids Run chairman, said: “We are thankful to DStv for the belief in our product and more so the belief in these young children.
We are proud that the proceeds of this run will go towards a good cause. All credit has to go to all the participants for their contribution towards the lives of children in schools. We are confident that this sponsorship will be a big boost for the Kids Run.”
Phoebe Nakabazzi, the DStv Marketing Manager said: “The future athletes of our country need the support and encouragement to develop their skills further and as DStv we are proud we can be influential in that regard.”
Tickets for the run are sold at MultiChoice branches in Kampala, Serena hotel, Prudential Insurance on Kampala Road and at all participating schools at Shs 20,000 each. A ticket entitles the runner to a T-shirt and water bottle.
